Whether you are 20 or 60, there is absolutely no reason you should walk around with bland checks. Most people have owned at least one set of fun personal checks in their lives. If you haven't you are missing out. Fun checks fall into the category of cheap personal checks in case you didn't already realize. They come in all manner of shapes, sizes, and colors and offer a variety of features.

Extravagant Financing

Some people believe that only extravagant people splurge on decorated checks. This is simply a farce. I don't know a single person who hasn't invested in some interesting check design during their life. Ok I did once know an accountant who always used the standard business checks they give you at the bank. Funny thing is he figured he was saving money by doing so. Interestingly enough I bought my checks online for half the price he paid for his standard and ‘inexpensive' bank checks. This is clearly a case where what you don't know can hurt you.

Get Professional

Fortunately if you do own a job where you must be a little serious at least part of the time, you can also order professional checks with the same ease you can get goofy ones online. In fact I have a few sets of professional looking checks just because it's nice to be ordinary on occasion. That said I always use fun checks when giving gifts of money or when paying bills. I figure the bill collectors are already serious enough, might as well shed some light in their life you know? Signing away your hard earned money while snoopy stares back at you is far more stress relieving anyway than signing your money to a bland looking check that screams "bye bye money".

Here's a thought. Recommend some funny checks next time you see someone grumbling about money and writing a check using a boring checkbook. Why not? The world would be a better place if more people lightened up anyway.
